art therapy at work? yes.
This is for folks who are trying to process the wild world we live in and relax through a creative and collective process.
This is for anyone - you don't need an art background, only an interest in exploring art making in a group setting.
This is an open space, but a closed, and intentionally safe, container led by Naomi Cohen-Thompson, a licensed art therapist.
One major impetus to opening a community based art therapy studio in NYC was to remain connected to and partnered with the amazing orgs doing important and life saving work.
Services for youth, families, educators, organizers and staff to offer what people often need and deserve but may be missing—intentionally quiet, decompressive space to process their feelings, personal narratives and thoughts through art making and facilitate group conversation.

I am proud to have brought DAC experiences to:

on site or in studio
In the in-person space, a large array of materials are offered, including but not limited to paints, brushes, drawing materials, paper, and collage materials.
Through prompts and therapeutic guidance, participants have an opportunity to express freely, in a loose, but facilitated space. The in person experience offers collaboration, collectivity and energy.
virtual experience
-For online offerings, prompts are offered and groups make individual reactions using what is readily available - scrap paper, pencils, tape, found objects, or whatever else they find in their surroundings.
By utilizing what we have to create and express, a sense of spontaneity, ingenuity and creative energy increases.
Let's discover how we can work together.
